Belacan Boy is a story of a boy, Saha or Asarudin, who has a hard upbringing but eventually makes good as a successful litigation lawyer. Saha’s latest client in a drug case is sentenced to death. His client’s last wish is for Asarudin to look for his father, whom he had dumped at an old folks’ home years earlier. After bringing him home for dinner, it suddenly dawns on Asarudin that he and the old man are no strangers.
