Istanbul, 1980. In the vibrant labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar, Laleh Karim seeks sanctuary, her life shattered by the Iranian Revolution.  Each stitch she sews mends not just fabric, but the fragments of her past.  Her nights, however, belong to her art. Under flickering gaslight, she transforms threads of silk and wool into breathtaking tapestries, vibrant with the life she left behind – crimson pomegranates echoing her family’s Tehran courtyard, sapphire threads tracing their perilous escape.  Woven within each masterpiece is the haunting image of Reza, her brother, whose alleged betrayal forced their flight, a whisper Laleh refuses to believe.

One sweltering afternoon, Annie Wallace, an American art dealer haunted by her own family secrets, stumbles upon Laleh's stall. Captivated by the raw emotion in the tapestries, Annie offers Laleh a solo exhibition in New York – a chance at a new life, but also a risk of exposing the secrets she guards so closely.

The news of Laleh's success ignites whispers of a different kind. A shadowy collector, known only as "The Weaver," obsessed with artifacts of the revolution, takes an interest in Laleh’s art, the secrets it holds.  Eerie imitations of her work appear, a chilling reminder that someone is watching, someone who knows.

Then, a faded photograph of Reza arrives, with a single word: "Remember." Hope flares amidst Laleh’s grief. Is Reza alive?  As she prepares for New York, the Grand Bazaar, once her haven, becomes a gilded cage.

In the dazzling chaos of New York, Laleh finds solace only in her art.  But the whispers follow, amplified by the city's energy. The stolen sketches are now blatant reproductions, a painful echo of Reza’s supposed betrayal. Anonymous threats appear, a shadowy figure dogs her steps.

Driven by empathy for Laleh and her own unresolved family trauma, Annie launches her own investigation into her father's disappearance in Iran during the revolution. Could there be a connection to Laleh's story, to Reza?

On the opening night of the exhibition, amidst a buzz of excitement, The Weaver lurks, his obsession palpable.  As he moves to acquire Laleh’s centerpiece tapestry – the one depicting Reza – a commotion erupts.
