Gono’s first day at West High School feels like stepping into an entirely different world. Newly adopted by wealthy but unkind parents who mock his nightly struggles with a small bladder, Gono faces a lonely and challenging start.

Along the way, he encounters two other newcomers: Koryu, a sharp-tongued loner with a defiant attitude, and Gojyo, a carefree and mischievous redhead.
