This book is a compilation of articles from various fields that have been grouped into three themes. The book consists of three (3) themes which are blast and impact resistant materials, blast protection technology and structure analysis for protection technology. Most of the test in these articles was conducted by Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia blast research team. The UPNM blast research team was established in 2010 and since then has carried out many blast tests on building materials such as concrete glass, steel, bricks and others. The UPNM blast research team is also involved in research and development of new blast resistant materials and provides consultancy in the area of blast protection and explosive technology. The UPNM blast research team has conducted blast tests for several universities such Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In addition to this, the UPNM blast research team also has been appointed as a consultant by industries such Aneka Glass Sdn. Bhd, Secuglass Sdn. Bhd, Virtual Instrumentation Sdn. Bhd., ZenBes Bricks Sdn. Bhd. The aim of this book is to give insight to the readers on the latest knowledge of engineering explosives technology and also blast resistant materials. This book can also be regarded as one of thereading references for students in civil and mining engineering. Moreover, it can also provide valuable knowledge on explosives for the military personnel who are working in the area of explosive engineering and also for research scientists who contribute in the area of explosive and blast on related research projects.
