Synopsis

President BERNARD DECKER'S "America Only" policies that most Americans support, stand in the way of Russian Federation President VLADISLAV NEDVEDEV'S geopolitical ambitions in Western Europe. A conspiracy to subvert Decker's reelection in 2020 is conceived by Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, unleashing a deadly pandemic that kills millions, destroying Decker's booming U.S. economy along with his reelection prospects. JADE HUANG, an aspiring African American/Chinese graduate student from Hong Kong, discovers that the pangolins she had been studying in Southeastern China, carried the coronavirus that was used to create the deadly SARS-PANG virus, the cause of the pandemic that emerged in the wet markets of Wuhan in late 2019. Mysterious text messages guide Jade as she pieces together a conspiracy theory that accuses ELIZABETH SLATER, the former Secretary of State and 2020 presidential hopeful, along with gain-of-function researchers, DR. ALEX BONDARENKO, the head of the NY-based Pandemic Prevention Alliance and DR. ROGER SCHWARTZ, the molecular virologist in North Carolina who has developed the technology to create the virus, of colluding with the Russians. Jade drafts a manuscript presenting her conspiracy theory that hits too close to home for Moscow's likings. A Congressional Subcommittee hearing is convened in the fall of 2020 that will uncover the conspiracy if Moscow cannot tie up loose ends first. Slater is blindsided when her ill-conceived 'under-the-table', SARS-PANG vaccine development kickback scheme is discovered, and ironically, she is identified as the conspiracy instigator. Public outrage against Slater salvages Decker's reelection, who then reinvents his America Only policies to bring the country together.
