This conversation is dedicated to the beloved and the faithful pet. The conversation welcomes a special guest, Tony Ogilino who has a very interesting story to tell about his experiences with animals. The Warrens and Tony Spera also have heartwarming stories about their four-legged friends that not only describe the life of the dog but the afterlife as well. It seems as though the grave is not an end for these animals because, with love, they are able to survive physical death.
The Warrens saw the physical ghost of their dog, Major, visit them only days after his death in order to say good-bye. Tony Spera had a similar experience with a dog he rescued from the side of the road. He saved the dog and cared for him for exactly one year before he had to be put down. Not too long after that, Tony was given a dog that looked exactly like the one he had just lost. He was convinced that this new dog was a reincarnation of his old friend. Many people have also written to the Warrens explaining how they can still feel the presence of their pets long after they have gone. There was even a woman who was saved from a mugging by the ghost of her dog! A truly amazing and inspiring story.
The story that Tony Ogilino had to share is life-changing and will create animal lovers out of even the hardest of hearts. Tony was a marine in WWII where he served in Okinawa. He was shot down in battle and left for dead. As he was lying there, surrounded by the dead bodies of his comrades, waiting in excruciating pain for death, he imagined all the animals he had shot and killed as a hunter back home. He felt extreme empathy for these animals and made a pact with God, “If I ever get out of this, when I get home, I’ll feed every animal that walks, crawls, or flies.” Tony did make it home and has kept true to his word, taking in and feeding every animal that crosses his path. But, like Ed, Lorraine, and Tony Spera, he will always have a special place in his heart for pets.
