Synopsis
Criminal acts are prohibited and punishable under Shari’a law. Islam strives to eliminate the inner impulse to crime by requiring moral thought and conduct. Environmental encouragement to commit a crime is suppressed. Alcohol is forbidden, as well as adultery and sexual misconduct. The government and individuals must care for the poor so they will not be compelled to steal.
Crimes such as robbery, rape, terrorism, and drug trafficking are grave crimes which cause immense effects on society. These crimes must be dealt with carefully, as failure to do so may jeopardize the whole structure of society physically, psychologically, and economically. These four crimes were chosen based on their effects on the victims and society. This book studies these crimes through analysis as to whether they can be considered Hirabah.
